Tech Integration & Blended Learning

As the availability of ed-tech tools are increasing at an incomprehensible pace, it is important to remember that technology should be used to support a need or meet an outcome; the purpose outweighs the tool. At the same time however, it's imperative that our students gain experience using multiple technological tools while in school, because these skills are necessary to participate effectively in today's technologically rich environment. When deciding to use a technological tool, teachers and students are encouraged to consider the following:
-Will this tool help me and/or my students save time?
-Will this tool create an effective way to collaborate?
-Will this tool add a meaningful way to express learning?
-Will this tool assist in effectively reaching a chosen audience?
-Will this tool support connections and sharing with others outside of our school walls?
-Will this tool support creative thinking?
-Will this tool assist in making deeper connections?
-Will this tool support problem solving?
-Will this tool assist in evaluating and analyzing information?
-Will this tool assist in personalizing the learning experience?
The ultimate goal is to work towards a blended learning scenario, so that the use of technology becomes ubiquitous- integral and natural within the learning experience as a whole.
